Hand wash only. Warm water, mild soap, a soft sponge. Don't soak it, and please keep it out of the dishwasher. Heat and long water exposure are what crack a board.
Dry it upright. Stand it on its edge so air moves around both sides. Lying flat on a wet counter is what warps wood.
Oil it now and then. A light coat of food-safe mineral oil every few weeks at first, then every month or two once it settles. Canadian winters are dry, and indoor heating pulls moisture out of wood faster than most people realise. A quick oil keeps the grain happy.
